Many Edmontonians are asking this very question.
Recent debacles with electric buses, bike lanes, and Councillor raises put core services into the spotlight.
People are questioning just what the City is doing with our tax dollars.
Despite rising property taxes, complaints about services like snow removal, pothole repairs, basic maintenance, and infrastructure persist.
Clearly, there is an urgent need for a shift in priorities at City Hall.
Since the inception of Common Sense Edmonton, we’ve been screaming from the rooftops for a return to prioritizing core services.
It's time for City Hall to listen.
Edmontonians deserve reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted access to essential services that support their daily lives.
Prioritizing the maintenance and improvement of core infrastructure and services, such as water, sanitation, and roads, is the essential job of City Hall.
In fact, it should be the only job of City Hall.
Core services form the backbone of a functional and thriving city.
We must end non-essential projects that don’t directly benefit the majority of residents.
Our resources should be allocated where they are needed most, ensuring every dollar spent makes a real difference in our community.
Residents deserve to know their taxes are being used effectively and responsibly, with a clear focus on only the necessities.
No more chaos.
No more pet projects.
No more misplaced priorities.
It’s time for City Hall to get back to basics.

Nothing was done and I was harassed till I quit.
Now I run a bed and breakfast. My old boss and Sgts were given promotions and transferred to commuty standards I believe to avoid be ok ng investigated.
A slum lord bought two houses across from my bed a breakfast. Large garbage bins left on site for of bet a year ,garbage everywhere ,homeleas drug addicts,violent crimes . All complaints have fallen in deaf ears.
No accountability and they are allowed to ignore laws to further harass people like me.
Sohi,the city Managers and counsellors have ignored all my evidence.
And now they’ve done the equivalent of creating a garbage dump for all of the neighborhood to have look at daily. Including the tourists to Edmonton that stay at my Band B.
I hope bill c-20 goes through so the Province can step in and end their illegal harrassment of employees a d citizens.
This was a highly expensive and unnecessary project and i find it disingenuous of City Council to cry poverty when they squander money like this.
