I’m already angry at the irresponsible closure of too many streets at once, the irresponsible use of public funds, irresponsible blanket re-zoning ruining neighbourhoods, and the irresponsible spendthrifts on council who have no idea what it means to stick to essentials first. I absolutely do not approve of yet another increase in my property taxes to fund vanity projects, particularly more useless bike lanes that only benefit a small percentage of Edmontonians, but make us all suffer both unusable roads & unreasonable expenses. I’m very close to leaving; was that the plan?

I’m a single mother on disability and my taxes are already $4500. I cannot afford another 6.4% increase.

Stop the wasteful spending and put it where it will do the most. While climate change is real you don’t have to starve people to help the environment. Also spending $100 million on bicycle trails instead of helping the homeless doesn’t make sense. Be responsible with the money you steal from law abiding taxpayers. DEI spending instead of investing money into homeless shelters and helping feed those less fortunate is not how you invest in your community. CD council should know better. The last liberal mayor did not keep faith with those who needed him most, shame on him. Hopefully the new mayor will look at his constituents and see where the money would actually help those in the city he represents.

Property taxes should have gone down over the last few years considering the wealth of the city. We need to remove wasteful spending based on special interests and speculation without any real benefit. People are paying way too much just to survive and a bloated government spending budget is completely unacceptable- as is the council if they won’t work to benefit the people they serve

I’m sick of the waste at City Hall. You don’t have a revenue problem, you have a spending problem. $100,000,000.00 for bike lanes. Are there 10,000 year around bikers in a winter city. I doubt it. Figure out what that costs per biker. WASTE

It is time to finally end the raging bureaucratic and political insanity that has infected the city for far too long. Edmonton is $5 billion in debt and we will shortly have to continue subsidizing Edmonton transit operations by$660 + Million Annually once the Net Zero Green Fantasy LRT actually goes into Operation! We cannot even get our Streets Plowed in a Winter City nor the Parks Mowed and weeded! Time for Mayor and City Council to to get their individual and collective heads notice I do not say brains out of where the Green Sun never shines and reduce the City Bureaucracy by 35% IMMEDIATELY Then 20% annually and actually reduce Taxes and eliminate egregious waste spending by invoking Private DOGE to make the necessary Cuts to restore Financial Sanity in the Budget process. You are driving Business Industry and Homeowners to Leave and Never Come or Stay.

If they want to raise taxes then the mayor and council should follow suit.

They should take a pay cut.

It seems that there is very little accountability.

Was there something that the city sent out for the people of Edmonton could have a say in. After all this affects all residents Edmonton.

Something that is of this magnitude is not a decision that should be taken so lightly.
