What about the most damaging cigarette butts?

    What about one used diapers?

What about filling up the grocery cart with all one use items?

Paper is biodegradable so one use for take out, come on people. Grow up and think for once.

Calling them “single use plastics” is incorrect. Plastic bags, wherever they are obtained, are multi-use items / plastics, and they will be reused as many times as they can be – safely and for as long as they can be. They will be used to repackage and carry things. They will be used to cover and protect food in the fridge and freezer. For these 2 examples, and for others, they will be used again and again until it is no longer safe to use them, or until they fall apart. Additionally, they are used for garbage and for picking up dog poop. AND, even grocery store bags biodegrade quite well and fairly quickly. If council decides to pursue with this bylaw, what will then occur is forcing people to purchase other plastic bags, which don’t biodegrade as quickly or as well, which also means adding more costs AND more to waste transfer & garbage dump sites. THUS, this type of bylaw makes matters worse – far worse.

The mayor says people like this ban. I just wonder who’s he talking to? Is he serious? Does he only talk to himself?
