All these property tax increases are driving people out of their homes!

We don’t have a revenue issue, we have a spending issue. As long as you keep blaming others for your problems, you won’t actively look for solutions and you make decisions based on a victim mentality. This regrettably has become the hallmark of our city council.

City Council has steadily raised tax for several years. BUT when i see the amount of squandering of funds on LRT road construction, and “beautification” projects its sick. Watching 23 workers planting small bushes on New LRT track runs on south leg, 23 workers at the intersection of 51ave and 66/75 street is sick. How much are they getting in salary to plant bushes. Its bullshit. To see the workers all along LRT construction, standing watching someone else work. The constant construction on the Whitemud bridges, delaying tacktics to keep the job rolling into next year. Yes contracts are supposedly tendered but taxpayers pay the price for the contracts. This and the rest of the waste has to stop.

This council was elected with reduction of property taxes in the forefront, and it had better happen.

Edmonton being a “winter city”. I can not endorse bike lanes when our city is covered with snow & can’t get city plows into city crescents..5-6 months/year. If council members have voted for these bike lanes, I want them to “talk the talk & walk the walk”. I want to see them riding their bikes to work, using these bike lanes. Role model to us, how you are going to use them, to get to work every day in the midst of winter & all year round.
