My taxes went up 30 % last year. Why the proposed increase of 6.4% in 2026?

    This is fiscal insanity!

I can’t afford living in Edmonton.

We have stupid, idiotic city Council.

100% agree why is it that you always go to raise taxes before even thinking about pulling in the purse strings

Enough is enough. Property taxes cannot keep rising every year and never more than 2% it’s not right. People are not making more and are being hit with higher costs at every turn. Why do you need $6.4 million for the Rossdale power plant roof? Let someone else pay for that with the proposals you will be receiving for change of use improvements which should be a film studio.

Somebody needs to take their head out of their ass and realize that what you’re doing in city Council is ineffective! The City has been a disaster for quite some time, you need to do better with your budget budgets and your salaries and stop making middle class to poor people pay for everything. It’s ridiculous. And yet you can’t even drive on the city streets they’re in such horrific condition. If you’re going to privatize things, give these people a timeline if it’s not done then they don’t get paid. They don’t get extensions. It’s done. Part of the problem is this privatization and how much money gets forked out. And maybe the public service commissioners office need to start doing their job properly and start holding public service accountable for their shitty service.
